# Setting up Lark for the first time

> A step-by-step guide to getting your Lark agent live on your website.

## Before you start

Every new account starts with a 14-day trial. During the trial you can build your agent, add knowledge, and put it on your own website — no plan required. You get 15 conversations and 15 messages per conversation per month. After the trial you need a paid plan to keep your agent live.

## Step 1: Build your agent's persona

Answer a few questions about your business and give your agent a name and an avatar. You can change these at any time in **Personalize** under Agent.

## Step 2: Add your business context

Open **Knowledge sources** under Agent and add the content your agent will answer from: paste text, upload a file or add a page from your website. See [Adding context to your knowledge base](/your-agent/knowledge-base).

## Step 3: Add suggested questions

In **Personalize**, add up to three questions that appear as chips when someone opens your agent.

## Step 4: Add it to your site

Open **Add to site**, set your organisation domain and copy the embed code onto your website. See [Embedding agent on your website](/getting-started/embedding).
